‘Carlos Haya’ expansion – Malaga, Spain

The hospital ‘Carlos Haya’ in Málaga suffered an expansion to hold a new bar and restaurant. The façade of this new area is very characteristic: an inner façade, with a width larger than usual, is home to the windows, while an exterior façade made entirely out of glass protects from light, wind, regulates the temperature…

The main façade has an air intake in between the brick walls and the stone cladding, while the secondary has green glass panels hanging from a steel structure. The roof structure is made out of reinforced concrete, just like the rest of floor structures, covered by an exterior gravel layer.
